A New Year, a fresh start

I went out this afternoon to North Cave Wetlands for the first birdwatch of the year, it was a bit déjà vu because as last year I was after seeing a Green Winged Teal to get the year off to a good start, this year though the bird was still present just a bit distant in a murky grey afternoon, I picked up another 34 year ticks but the only other bird of any note was a drake Goosander that dropped in.
