Nipped
across to Flamborough for a couple of hours this morning with Mark for a Serin that had been
found in the field behind Millennium Wood a couple of days ago, I've seen plenty abroad but they are not that easy to catch up with in this country and this would in fact be only my second sighting of one over here, it was still
present but very active and spent a lot of time out in the field, fortunately
it made regular sorties to the surrounding hedgerows although it seemed to be pretty
nervous, always sat in the bush rather than on it and never allowed a close
approach, good scope views but not photogenic, also one or two Bramblings in
with the flock.
