Local stuff

Well a pretty quiet start to the year locally with the weather being so mild, in fact it was more like Spring this week, until the weekend that is, anyway as such it has meant there has been nothing interesting on the river, hardly any winter thrushes around and at the Cornfield NR although there has been good numbers of Tree Sparrows and Greenfinches they have only been accompanied by a handful of Linnets, Yellowhammers and Reed Buntings, on a more positive note though this week saw me get in on this winters Goose fest and as well as the usual Canadas and Greylags on the river an adult White Fronted flew west over the Country Park on the 12th and a skein of 90+ Pinkfeet flew north this morning, the White Front being a patch tick for me.

although its been a Spring like week it was a frosty start this morning
