Winter Wonderland

Well a bit of snow and cold weather has certainly had an effect locally especially at the Cornfield NR where there has been a substantial rise in numbers of everything particularly Linnets and Yellowhammers plus the first Corn Buntings of this winter period, 30+ have been around all week, Snipe too have have been more visible as they have been forced out to feed in more open areas, not many Thrushes though as they have been pushed into peoples gardens and indeed I have recorded my first ever garden Fieldfares this last week.
