A Dire Day indeed

I know they say a bad day makes the good days better but it doesn't help when you're having one, Me and Mark started the day at Long Nab, Burniston but despite extensive searching there was no sign of yesterdays Buff Breasted Sandpiper nor was there any sign of the recent Red Crested Pochard at Scarborough Mere, we carried on to Filey but a walk around Parish Wood failed to produce any Yellow Browed Warblers, there was no point in going on to the Country Park and the Dams was very quiet. The afternoon found us at Flamborough where we at least saw a Yellow Browed Warbler at Old Fall plantation but even that was highly mobile and elusive just giving brief views before it shot off into the next bush and that was that, altogether a dire day further compounded by the fact the Sandhill Crane turned up in Suffolk this afternoon after missing out Yorkshire, Lincs and Norfolk, unbelievable. Oh well hopefully there'll be some easterlies before long.
