Trip out to Blacktoft Sands after work on Thursday 5th for the returning female Montagu’s Harrier from last year although she kept me waiting, I
had almost given up when she appeared at around 18:40 and although never close
she had a little fly around for five mins before dropping into the reeds roughly in the area they
nested last year, no sign of the male as yet though, there were also a good few Marsh
Harriers showing well and several Cetti’s and other Warblers singing away.
